What are the Google Cloud Platform Services?

Google Cloud Platform is a set of Computing, Networking, Storage, Big Data, Machine Learning, and Management services provided by Google that runs on the same Cloud infrastructure.


What is Google Cloud?


Google Cloud is a suite of public cloud computing services offered by Google. The platform includes a range of hosted services for computing, storage, and application development that run on Google hardware. Google Cloud services can be accessed by software developers, cloud administrators, and other enterprise IT professionals over the public internet or through a dedicated network connection. Below is a list of all the services that make up the Google Cloud Platform. Google offers many other services and APIs, but only the following are covered by Google Cloud Platform terms of service, service level agreements (if applicable), and support. In accordance with the Google Cloud Platform Terms of Service and the Cloud Data Processing Addendum, the below offerings are not Services.


Google Cloud Platform: Why should you use it?

After understanding what Google Cloud Platform and Cloud Computing are, let's understand why one should use them. Google Cloud Platform is a set of cloud computing services that Google uses internally for its end-user products, such as Google Search, Gmail, Google Photos, and YouTube. The databases of Gmail, Youtube, and Google Search are huge.

There are seven services offered by Google.

Compute: Google Cloud Platform offers scalable computing options that you can customize to suit your requirements. Virtual machines can be highly customized with it. You can deploy your code directly or via containers.

  • Google App Engine

  • Google Kubernetes Engine

  • Google Cloud Container Registry

  • Cloud Functions


Networking: Networking services are included in the Storage domain, including the following:

  • Google Virtual Private Cloud (VPC)

  • Google Cloud Load Balancing

  • Content Delivery Network

  • What is Google Cloud Connect

  • Google Cloud DNS

Storage and Databases: This domain includes services related to data storage, including the following:

  • Google Cloud Storage

  • Cloud SQL

  • Cloud Bigtable

  • Google Cloud Datastore

  • Persistent Disk


Big Data: The storage domain includes services related to big data, including the following:

  • Google BigQuery

  • Google Cloud Dataproc

  • Google Cloud Datalab

  • Google Cloud Pub/Sub


Identity and Security: The storage domain includes services related to security, including the following services:

  • Cloud Resource Manager

  • Cloud IAM

  • Cloud Security Scanner

  • Cloud Platform Security


Management tools: The Storage domain includes services related to monitoring and management, including the following services:

  • Stackdriver

  • Monitoring

  • Logging

  • Error Reporting

  • Trace

  • Cloud Console
